Blended Traditions

Visiting St Luke's in Tauranga is a disorienting experience. This Assemblies of God church sits within one of Aotearoa's largest Pentecostal movements, yet instead of video screens the walls are lined with icons of saints and artwork tracing the liturgical calendar. St Luke's is a living example of the growing blending of traditions across Protestant churches today. In this workshop, Joseph explores a generous orthodoxy that draws on the riches of the wider church—Catholic, Pentecostal, charismatic, and contemplative—and shares how these threads have been woven together in the life of St Luke's.
